 On Top of the World Bag This bag performs like a class-act, but makes sure you still feel spunky. Fits a laptop, maybe some important documents, and has zippered pockets to handle your 7 tubes of lipstick, a few unmentionables, cell, planner, and a snack or two. All the essentials. Made from vegan "leather," it's actually environmentally conscious---Designed to look like leather, this animal-friendly polyurethane material is safer to produce and healthier for consumers to carry. With technological improvements, there is minimal toxic output during production compared to leather tanning. In addition, the material is biodegradable in 10 years ensuring an eco-friendly life cycle for each bag. Maintenance is a cinch too! Wipe and go. Update: Pleather and leather bags are starting to be tested for lead content. Low levels of lead paint have been found in bags ranging from Kate Spade and Michael Kors to Target and H&M. A handful of Shiraleah bags have also been found to contain some lead paint. While we are not sure of which ones do and which don't, we wanted you to be aware of the risk. Do not put any purse in your mouth---unless you wove the cloth out of cotton you grew in your own back yard. For that reason, the starting price of this bag is 20% lower than its suggested price.
